Realizing the Rarity of Life
Everyday is special, you get to see your loved ones (fur babies included), you get to breathe, laugh, love, and experience life. Your life is so special in fact, that you only had a 1 in 400 trillionth of a chance to be here. To put this into perspective 1 million seconds is 11 days, 1 billion seconds is 31 years, and 1 trillion seconds is over 31,000 years! With this being said everyone’s life is incredibly rare and there are people that either don’t know what they have or they simply just don’t care and will do anything to take this chance away from themselves or you. So protecting this rarity at all costs should be, if it’s not already, the most important thing you focus on. This is the basis of the Evolution Tactical Mindset.
Mindset Evolution
Early on, when I first got my carry handgun, I had the mindset that if anyone threatens my life, my family’s life, or someone else’s life in my presence that I would stand up, draw my handgun, point it at the person and take their life. Which somewhat aligns with the Evolution Tactical mentality. And to a certain extent I still have that mindset. I am a protector and I take this responsibility seriously. However there have been a multitude of situations that have molded this raw clay of a mindset I had. Between terrorist attacks, the rise of criminal activity, and the increasing tensions of political parties I have put my ideologies to the test. I have learned through the years that there are better ways to fight fire than with fire.
Over the years I have studied many videos showcasing and dissecting the extraordinarily difficult instance of armed and unarmed citizens protecting themselves, successfully and unsuccessfully. During these breakdowns they point out each crucial moment that led to the final breaths of these people’s lives. When the good guy wins, there is a rush of hope and optimism that floods the body. That if I was in that situation I’d do what he or she did, and come out on top also. But when the bad guy wins, there is a solemn realization that not all situations are the same, and the good guy doesn’t win every fight.
Evolving Ideologies
My mentality from being an eager 18 year old wanting to own a gun and to protect my family has shifted to what I call a sheepdog mentality. Some have called this the gray-man mentality. This is the shift that brings us to the Evolution Tactical Mindset.
The Evolution Tactical Mindset as it stands today, is one that is careful and strategic. One where you become aware of potential threats. Being very aware of surroundings and making yourself as unnoticeable as possible. Then, when an undeniable threat presents itself, ready and willing to do harm to anyone and everyone. We assess and react accordingly with no regrets. However, we know that life is precious. After the shots ring out and the threat is no more. Protecting the rarity of life. Without throwing your life away to do it. If you have to get out, if you can get out, get out. If you are backed into a corner with nowhere to go. You grit your teeth and let your training take over and protect the ones that need it most. Most importantly, do not allow yourself to be in a position where you can not get out. At all costs try to see trouble before it sees you and avoid it. But if you’re forced into a position where you have to defend yourself, you rely on the Evolution Tactical Mindset and your training to see your way out.
When you get to the IF moment you have trained for. Your finger on the trigger depressing the slack and breaking the wall, the firing pin unleashing all of its force on the primer at your will. You will not be able to think about this. Think through all sorts of situations and never be caught off guard. See trouble before it sees you and be able to protect the ones that cannot protect themselves.
